VAT Specialist – Tax & Compliance Role

About the role

PwC is looking for a motivated VAT Specialist to join its Bratislava office. You will work closely with experienced accounting and finance professionals across the region, handling VAT compliance and supporting clients on tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full VAT process, including preparation and submission of VAT returns, Intrastat reports, and European sales/purchase lists.
• Process VAT payments, monitor refunds, and ensure timely reconciliation.
• Prepare internal VAT analyses, reports, and reconciliations.
• Participate in VAT audits, communicate with auditors, and resolve queries.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and support projects related to VAT legislation changes.
• Handle comprehensive accounting transactions for the PwC foreign office.
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement process enhancements.
• Communicate with clients, supervisors, and team members in Slovak and English.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in a similar VAT or tax compliance role.
• Graduate degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Slovak language proficiency is beneficial.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
