Technical Architect – Cloud Data Solutions

About the role

PwC’s Advanced Technology Solutions team is looking for a Technical Architect to design scalable, secure, and production‑ready data solutions across its Managed Data Services portfolio. The role bridges high‑level architecture with hands‑on engineering, turning complex data challenges into robust cloud implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architecture artifacts such as C4 models, high‑level and low‑level designs, class, sequence, and data‑flow diagrams.
• Validate designs through proofs of concept, technology exploration, and hands‑on execution.
• Define and maintain reference architectures, reusable patterns, and best practices for secure, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, PMs, Tech Leads, DevOps, SRE, and Operations to ensure a cohesive architectural vision.
• Identify technical risks, support governance and sign‑off processes, and maintain technical documentation compliant with security policies.

Required profile

• Prior experience as a System or Technical Architect and at least 7 years of development experience.
• Strong software architecture background with the ability to translate conceptual designs into detailed implementation.
• Hands‑on expertise in C4 modeling and diagram‑as‑code tools (Structurizr, PlantUML, Mermaid).
• Proficiency in C# (or Python) with knowledge of Dependency Injection, Clean Architecture, and Domain‑Driven Design.
• Experience with cloud‑native data platforms, especially Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Purview.
• Solid understanding of DevOps, SRE, and operational practices.
