Staff Software Engineer - Community

About the role

TechBiz Global is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join a client’s community-focused product team in Bratislava. You will shape the architecture of high‑traffic web applications, mentor engineers, and translate business goals into robust technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and observable application architecture.
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Identify and optimise performance bottlenecks across complex systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver impactful features.
• Ensure application security and implement safeguards against vulnerabilities.
• Lead technical decisions for major capabilities and create clear roadmaps.
• Act as a product‑engineering SME, mapping capabilities to domain services.
• Mentor team members, promote best engineering practices, and communicate solutions to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience building customer‑facing web products with React and Next.js.
• Solid front‑end engineering background, ideally with full‑stack experience across APIs and integrations.
• Proven track record designing and evolving software architecture for complex, multi‑codebase systems.
• Product‑engineering mindset with the ability to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Coaching mindset, eager to raise standards and share best practices.
