Software Engineer

About the role

Cisco's Webex Engineering Group is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Bratislava team. You will work on backend services that power collaboration products such as Webex Meetings, Webex Calling and Slido, helping to deliver a seamless experience across devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain new features for micro‑service based backend systems.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design discussions, code reviews and testing.
• Improve performance, reliability and observability of services.
• Collaborate with product managers, SRE/DevOps and other engineers.
• Assist in incident resolution and contribute to post‑mortem analyses.
• Leverage AI coding assistants (e.g., Copilot, Cursor) to increase productivity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong foundation in backend development and production environments.
• Willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
