Payroll Accountant (F/M)

About the role

EY is looking for a Payroll Accountant to join its team of payroll professionals in Bratislava, starting ASAP. You will support payroll processing and payroll advisory services for clients across various industries, gaining direct client exposure and continuous learning alongside experienced professionals. The role suits someone who has a basic understanding of payroll processes and is eager to grow in an international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and administer payroll activities in line with legislation and internal policies, and handle payroll deductions
• Communicate with clients and relevant state authorities
• Prepare payroll reports and outputs, and maintain attendance records and payroll calculations including allowances and supplements
• Prepare and process onboarding and offboarding documentation, and register and deregister employees with health and social insurance institutions
• Submit monthly reports to insurance authorities, monthly tax reports, annual tax declarations, taxable income confirmations and annual income tax reconciliations
• Archive payroll documentation and maintain employee information in payroll systems
• Handle documentation for sick leave and family care leave, and keep up to date with payroll processes and employment legislation

Required profile

• English at B1 level or higher; previous payroll experience, ideally covering at least one full payroll cycle
• Understanding of Slovak Labour Code regulations
• Secondary or university education in Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a collaborative mindset

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Intermediate English
