Linux/UNIX System Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Linux/UNIX System Administrator to join our team and support critical infrastructure for Siemens Grid Control Systems. You will work in a fast‑paced, international environment, ensuring high availability and security of both Linux/UNIX and Windows Server platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure Siemens Grid Control hardware and software, including third‑party components such as Nagios.
• Administer and support Linux/UNIX and Windows Server environments, handling firewalls, DMZs, IP addressing and routing.
• Prepare test cases, execute system and infrastructure tests, and perform vulnerability assessments.
• Detect, analyze and troubleshoot 24/7 critical infrastructure issues.
• Apply IT security standards (MFA, encryption, system hardening) and maintain compliance with CIS Benchmark, ISO 27001 and IEC 62443.
• Support clustering, redundancy, and high‑availability configurations.
• Collaborate with sales on technical concepts and tender processes.
• Read and analyse shell scripts and source code when required.

Required profile

• Strong command of English (minimum B2 level).
• Advanced knowledge of Linux/UNIX administration and good knowledge of Windows Server.
• Basic understanding of networking, routing and switching.
• Ability to read and understand shell scripts; scripting experience (Bash, PowerShell, ksh) is a plus.
• Willingness to work with customers and support continuous improvement.
