ICT Network Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Slovakia, which entered the Košice region in 2006 and is now one of the founding members of the Košice IT Valley, is looking for an ICT Network Engineer. The role covers planning, implementing and maintaining a stable technical infrastructure and supporting LAN/WAN/Wireless solutions, with a focus on complex 3rd-level activities and incident resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and maintain a stable technical infrastructure supporting business processes, and identify and fix weaknesses in processes according to industry and internal standards.
• Install, configure and support LAN/WAN/Wireless solutions using Cisco switches and APs, Meraki, Juniper switches, Mist and Aerohive APs.
• Diagnose and resolve complex tickets, investigate root causes of incidents and propose regular inspections and improvements.
• Evaluate, authorise, plan, test, implement and document complex changes, and assess infrastructure performance against predictions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, serve as technical lead for release and deployment plans, and deliver training plans for colleagues.
• Create tickets (TAC cases, problem tickets, incidents) and control rollout plans for migrations of standard solutions.

Required profile

• Secondary education in information technologies and 5 years of experience.
• At least one relevant platform certificate (CCNA/JNCIA).
• Core platform knowledge at expert level, related platform knowledge at intermediate level.
• Knowledge of project management and ITIL processes.
• Upper-intermediate English (B2); German (B1) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, Mist and Aerohive equipment.
• Desirable: TCP/IP, STP, VLAN, QoS, HSRP/VRRP, wireless and routing.
