HR Officer – Recruitment and Administration

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and organized HR Officer to join our Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EME) Area Office in Bratislava. You will manage the full recruitment cycle, support HR administration, and ensure a smooth employee lifecycle for our mission‑driven organization.

Key responsibilities

• Create recruitment ads, source candidates, screen applications, conduct interviews and coordinate onboarding.
• Administer employee lifecycle tasks such as new‑hire paperwork, record maintenance and processing of employee changes.
• Manage absence tracking, leave requests and communication of leave policies.
• Provide HR administration support in line with company policies and local employment law.
• Process payroll inputs and employee expense reimbursements.
• Assist in developing and implementing health and safety policies.
• Respond to employee inquiries on HR policies, benefits and procedures.
• Support event logistics, visa applications and other ad‑hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Economics, Administration, Public Policy or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of generalist HR experience.
• Fluent in Slovak and English.
• Strong administrative abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Cross‑cultural sensitivity and client‑oriented professionalism.
• Commitment to HFHI values and safeguarding policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Familiarity with an HRIS (preferred).
