DevOps Engineer – Cloud & CI/CD (Bratislava)

About the role

Avenga is looking for a DevOps Engineer to design, automate and operate the cloud infrastructure that powers a payment solution. You will work in an agile environment alongside developers and other DevOps engineers to ensure reliable delivery and stable production.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
• Provision and manage AWS infrastructure with Terraform.
• Deploy and operate containerised micro‑services on AWS ECS.
• Work with a wide range of AWS services (IAM, Cognito, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, API Gateway, MSK/Kafka, ALB, VPN).
• Ensure availability, reliability and security of the payment solution.
• Participate in on‑call production support and incident resolution.
• Automate operational tasks with Bash and Python.
• Apply DevSecOps and security best practices.
• Document infrastructure, processes and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional Agile teams.

Required profile

• 3+ years of DevOps experience and solid understanding of DevOps principles.
• Experience with source‑code management (Git).
• Knowledge of building, managing and securing CI/CD pipelines.
• Basic AWS knowledge (advanced a plus).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
• Scripting skills in Bash and Python.
• Ability to work in an Agile environment.
• Product or Agile project experience in banking or fintech.
• Good knowledge of Atlassian JIRA and Confluence.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python preferred).
• Experience in AI‑assisted development.
• Advanced English (C1).
