Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join Cisco’s Webex Engineering Group in Bratislava. You will help design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines that feed Partner Hub Analytics, enabling our customers to gain actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain streaming and batch data pipelines under guidance from senior engineers.
• Develop and optimise workflows using Apache Pinot, Apache Iceberg, Apache Flink and Apache Spark.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design discussions, code reviews and testing.
• Improve pipeline performance, reliability and observability, and resolve technical issues.
• Leverage AI coding assistants such as Copilot or Cursor to accelerate development.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers and data teams.
• Assist in incident resolution and contribute to post‑mortem analyses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or software engineering.
• Solid understanding of data processing frameworks and distributed systems.
• Willingness to learn new technologies quickly and continuously improve data quality.
