Staff React Native Engineer - Pro

About the role

Payward, the parent company behind Kraken, is looking for a Staff React Native Engineer to lead the mobile experience of Kraken Pro. The role will shape the technical vision, architecture, and performance of the next‑generation trading application used by advanced traders worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive the technical vision and architecture of Kraken Pro’s mobile application.
• Build and maintain high‑performance React Native applications using TypeScript.
• Lead initiatives to improve app startup time, responsiveness, and resource efficiency.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver user‑facing features.
• Diagnose and resolve critical production issues.
• Define and evolve engineering standards, best practices, and tooling for mobile development.
• Mentor engineers and raise the overall technical capability of the team.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on mobile development.
• Proven track record owning or leading large‑scale production mobile applications.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical direction across teams.
• Proactive, ownership‑driven mindset with a bias for action.
