Senior Frontend Engineer – Consumer

About the role

We are looking for a world‑class Senior Frontend Engineer to join the Consumer team that builds the Kraken app used by millions of crypto traders. You will work on both web (React) and mobile (React Native) products, turning user needs into high‑quality, data‑driven experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain consumer‑facing features across web (React) and mobile (React Native) from concept to production monitoring.
• Own the full product lifecycle: discovery, technical design, release, monitoring, A/B testing and iteration.
• Drive experimentation strategies, formulate hypotheses, analyse results and iterate based on data.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data and Platform teams to create coherent cross‑platform experiences.
• Make opinionated technical decisions on frameworks and architecture (e.g., TanStack Router vs. Next.js App Router).
• Set and enforce standards for code quality, accessibility, performance and testability.
• Mentor engineers of all seniority levels and lead complex cross‑platform initiatives.
• Stay ahead of the React ecosystem (Server Components, concurrent features, streaming) and share insights with the team.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience building large‑scale web and mobile applications with React and React Native.
• Strong data‑driven mindset, comfortable designing and analysing A/B tests.
• Excellent architectural judgment and the ability to advocate for technical choices.
• Track record of mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of craftsmanship.
• Comfortable working in an agile, globally distributed environment.
