Senior Security Monitoring Analyst – Leadership Pathway

About the role

ESET is looking for a motivated and curious professional to join its Threat Defense R&D team as a Senior Security Monitoring Analyst. You will help shape and evolve security services, focusing on threat hunting, incident response and EDR/XDR detection capabilities, while working with cutting‑edge tools and top experts in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse global security threats, identifying events that require attention.
• Formulate hypotheses and conduct threat‑hunting activities across assigned or global environments.
• Investigate security incidents, map attack paths, and determine root causes.
• Participate in global incident‑response cases, including MDR customers and research‑related incidents.
• Collaborate with Threat Research and Malware Analysis teams to design detection logic for EDR/XDR platforms.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset, proactive curiosity and eagerness to innovate.
• Experience as a SOC analyst or in a similar role, with background in threat hunting and incident response.
• Degree in IT or cybersecurity (advantageous) and certifications such as CEH or GCIH (advantageous).
• English proficiency at upper‑intermediate level (B2) or higher.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with EDR/XDR and/or SIEM platforms.
• Threat hunting and incident‑response expertise.
• Solid understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Good knowledge of networking concepts (IP, ports, protocols).
• Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
