System Engineer – Excitation Systems

About the role

We are looking for a System Engineer to lead the execution, design and delivery of excitation systems for synchronous generators. The role combines technical project management with hands‑on engineering, ensuring that each system meets performance, safety and customer requirements from concept to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle for excitation system projects, including planning, design, procurement, assembly and site installation.
• Perform system engineering and detailed design of excitation hardware and control software.
• Coordinate purchasing, assembly, functional testing, workshop acceptance tests and on‑site commissioning.
• Prepare product documentation, deliver customer training and provide after‑sales support.
• Develop technical offers, conduct customer negotiations and support the sales process for excitation solutions.

Required profile

• Degree from a polytechnic or technical university in electrical or control engineering.
• Strong understanding of electrical generators, power systems, power electronics and control systems.
• Proven project management abilities and willingness to travel for extended business trips.
• Fluent English (mandatory); German is a plus.
