Staff Software Engineer - Social Gaming

About the role

TechBiz Global is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join a fast‑growing social gaming product team. You will shape the technical foundation of real‑time tournament systems, delivering reliable, scalable, and secure backend services for a global audience.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, maintainable, observable, high‑performance application architecture.
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code following engineering best practices.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical standards across the team.
• Identify and resolve system performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver impactful features.
• Ensure application security and implement safeguards against vulnerabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and delivering large‑scale production systems.
• Strong understanding of Domain‑Driven Design, API‑first architecture, and software design patterns.
• Product engineering mindset with ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments.

Required skills

• JavaScript (React/Next.js) or another backend language, preferably Node.js or PHP.
• Experience with Pub/Sub systems, WebSockets, and Server‑Sent Events (SSE).
• Knowledge of MySQL (nice to have).
• Familiarity with DDD, SOLID, and GRASP principles.
