Software Engineer - Webex Native Client

About the role

Cisco's Webex Engineering Group is looking for a Software Engineer to work on the Webex Native Client in Bratislava. The team builds the technology behind Webex Meetings, Webex Calling and Webex Contact Center, so that users get an immersive collaboration experience on any device or location. The work is done in close partnership with UX design and product management teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain end-user features used by millions of people worldwide.
• Turn product requirements into clear technical designs and executable tasks, delivering high-quality, maintainable solutions.
• Review designs and code, guide implementation decisions and raise the bar for engineering quality.
• Investigate issues, find root causes and drive improvements based on CSAT, NPS, feedback and metrics.
• Partner with engineers, product managers and designers to balance speed, quality and long-term sustainability.
• Use AI tools effectively and responsibly across the development lifecycle.
• Mentor and support other engineers.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building and maintaining client-facing applications in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals and architecture concepts, with a willingness to learn new technologies quickly.
• Ability to tackle complex problems creatively, communicate clearly and work well in diverse teams.

Required skills

• Preferred: end-to-end development in languages such as C++, Swift, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java or Python.
• Preferred: UI frameworks such as Qt, Cocoa, React or Angular.
• Preferred: back-end with Java (Spring), RESTful APIs, WebSockets and API design.
• Preferred: unit, integration and end-to-end testing, including contract testing and test automation in CI pipelines.
• Preferred: familiarity with Git, DevOps, continuous integration and delivery, and experience optimising apps on Windows, macOS, Linux and the web.

The starting salary range for new hires is EUR 35,200 to EUR 49,700, depending on location, experience and qualifications.
