About the role

Caterpillar’s digital arm, Cat Digital, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its global team. You will work on high‑impact digital products that support millions of connected assets, collaborating with engineering leaders in Slovakia and IT teams in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and support software applications using agile methodologies.
• Design, modify, and develop code for new and existing systems.
• Gather client requirements and automate workflow optimizations.
• Write and enhance source code, and generate code samples.
• Utilize automated testing tools for testing and maintenance.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on code structure and documentation.
• Stay current with emerging IT trends and technologies.
• Work independently on complex system components that may be shared across applications.
