Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Join Cisco's Webex Engineering Group in Bratislava as a Senior Software Engineer. You will help shape the next generation of collaboration tools that power Webex Meetings, Calling, Contact Center and Slido, delivering seamless experiences across devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain end‑to‑end software features for highly available microservice architectures.
• Drive technical decisions for owned services, focusing on performance, scalability, reliability and observability.
• Debug complex production incidents, contribute to incident resolution and post‑mortems.
• Leverage AI coding assistants (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Codex) to accelerate development.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, SRE/DevOps and fellow engineers.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers through code reviews and technical discussions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience building and maintaining backend services in production.
• Strong understanding of software architecture concepts and willingness to learn new technologies.
