Senior Site Reliability Engineer (AWS)

About the role

Join Cat Digital, the technology arm of Caterpillar, as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer. You will ensure the reliability, availability and performance of mission‑critical web‑based systems supporting millions of connected assets worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical roadmaps that align business processes and applications with strategic objectives.
• Analyze business requirements, identify technical gaps and propose solutions.
• Conduct risk assessments, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions and routine issue resolution.
• Communicate client feedback to technology teams to improve deliverables.

Required profile

• Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to create tailored solutions.
• Strong systems thinking to understand interdependencies across complex architectures.
• Deep knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, databases and communication protocols.
• Proven technical troubleshooting skills for hardware, software and application issues.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS infrastructure and services.

Required skills

• AWS, CloudFormation, Terraform
• GitHub, Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines)
• Python (preferred), JavaScript (preferred)
• Docker, Kubernetes
• Monitoring tools: Thousand Eyes, Grafana, AppDynamics, Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace
• Node.js, Next.js, OpenTelemetry
• AWS certification (associate level or higher)
