Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

Swiss Re is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance professional for its ODS-P (Operational Data Storage – Pricing) platform in Bratislava. The role covers quality across the entire software development lifecycle, from early requirements discussions to end-to-end validation, combining hands-on testing with analysis and data-centric quality assurance. The team works on a cloud-native, enterprise-grade platform that underpins pricing, calculation and reporting across Life & Health, Property & Casualty and Corporate Solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own QA activities across the SDLC, including risk-based test planning, test design, execution, regression testing, defect analysis and evidence of test coverage
• Work with business analysts, product owners and stakeholders early to clarify requirements, identify gaps and edge cases, and define clear acceptance criteria
• Build a deep understanding of business processes, data flows and system dependencies
• Design and run functional, integration and end-to-end tests across services, enterprise applications, REST APIs and connected systems
• Help create and maintain automated tests with the automation QA specialist
• Investigate defects by tracing behaviour across application logic, interfaces and data, working with developers and database specialists
• Use SQL to validate database changes, data consistency, transformations and business rules
• Work in an agile team using Azure DevOps and CI/CD to manage defects and support release decisions

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional QA experience testing complex, business-critical enterprise applications
• Ability to read, write and review automated tests in Java or a similar language, including with AI-assisted tools
• Experience collaborating with analysts and stakeholders on requirements and acceptance criteria
• Practical SQL skills for querying, comparing and validating data across systems

Nice to have

• Oracle, advanced SQL, data reconciliation or testing of database procedures and transformations
• Azure DevOps experience
• Insurance or reinsurance knowledge, especially pricing, financial calculations or reporting

What we offer

• Base salary in Slovakia of EUR 3,800 to EUR 6,300 per month for a full-time role, depending on profile and requirements
