Senior Project Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join Hitachi Energy’s Grid & Power Quality Solutions team in Slovakia. The role focuses on secondary engineering, designing and developing auxiliary, control and protection systems for LV, MV and HV substations supporting the energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop secondary systems for auxiliary, control and protection applications in LV, MV and HV substations.
• Perform detailed analyses and simulations to validate performance and identify issues.
• Prepare technical documentation such as specifications, design reports and testing procedures.
• Collaborate with primary engineering teams to integrate secondary systems and resolve interface challenges.
• Support system commissioning, testing and on‑site troubleshooting.
• Maintain and diagnose existing secondary engineering systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, process optimisation and evaluation of new technologies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably with secondary systems.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, design methodologies and relevant industry standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience using simulation tools for electrical system analysis.
