Senior .NET API Developer – Risk Exposure Data Store

About the role

Zurich is hiring a Senior .NET API Developer to build and evolve REDS – the Risk Exposure Data Store, a strategic global platform for risk accumulation management. You will design high‑performance, cloud‑native APIs that serve underwriting, modelling and reporting consumers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain .NET Core RESTful APIs exposing REDS capabilities.
• Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable, secure, Azure‑based services.
• Integrate .NET services with Databricks, Azure SQL, PostGIS, message queues and internal Zurich platforms.
• Ensure high code quality through unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, observability and secure coding practices.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, modelers, data engineers and business stakeholders in an agile delivery model.
• Modernize legacy components and migrate them to a cloud‑native target architecture.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience, preferably in financial services.
• Strong experience with .NET (latest LTS.NET 8 preferred) and developing .NET Core RESTful APIs.
• Solid experience with Entity Framework, Repository/Unit of Work patterns, and T‑SQL/MS SQL.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, unit testing, and Azure PaaS services (Web Apps, Functions).
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and cloud‑native development.
