Senior .NET API Developer – Risk Exposure Data Store

About the role

We are looking for a Senior .NET API Developer to join the team building REDS – the Risk Exposure Data Store, Zurich’s global platform for risk accumulation management. You will design and implement high‑performance .NET Core APIs that connect underwriting, modelling and reporting consumers to data stored in Databricks, Azure SQL and PostGIS.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain .NET Core RESTful APIs on Azure.
• Contribute to architectural decisions for scalable, secure, cloud‑native services.
• Integrate .NET services with Databricks, Azure SQL, PostGIS, message queues and internal Zurich platforms.
• Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines and observability.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, data engineers and business stakeholders in an agile environment.
• Modernise legacy components and migrate them to the target cloud‑native architecture.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience, preferably in financial services or insurance.
• Proven ability to build applications from scratch in an international setting.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Required skills

• .NET (latest LTS.NET 8 preferred) and .NET Core.
• RESTful API development.
• Entity Framework, Repository/Unit of Work patterns.
• T‑SQL / MS SQL (queries, stored procedures, triggers).
• Asynchronous programming and parallelisation in .NET.
• Unit testing frameworks and test‑driven development.
• Azure Web Apps, Azure Functions and other Azure PaaS services.
• Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
