Senior Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Design Engineering team within the Power Management business unit. The role focuses on creating end‑to‑end power system solutions for telecom and data‑center customers, from requirement capture to fully operational, customer‑ready designs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop DC power systems and engineer‑to‑order solutions for telecom and data‑center applications.
• Collect, analyse and translate technical requirements from Offering Management and Technical Sales into engineering specifications.
• Define system‑level architectures that meet customer specifications, industry standards and Vertiv product platforms.
• Lead technical activities and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
• Document engineering data in Vertiv PLM tools, manage change control and item structures.
• Create and maintain circuit diagrams, schematics and electrical design documentation.
• Develop and maintain accurate electrical Bill of Materials within PLM systems.
• Provide electrical and systems engineering support to manufacturing, field service, quality and sales teams.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers and other stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions on time and within budget.
• Contribute to design standardisation, platform development and continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in electrical/systems engineering with a focus on power electronics, conversion or distribution.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and coordinate cross‑disciplinary activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Power supply design including AC/DC, DC/DC converters, UPS systems, rectifiers and inverters.
• Experience with backup power systems and energy‑storage solutions.
• Proficiency in creating circuit diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Understanding of BOM structures, engineering change control and PLM systems (e.g., PD Cloud, Oracle PLM).
• Familiarity with telecom and data‑center power architectures and relevant standards.
