Senior Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to strengthen our data team in the financial services industry. You will own end‑to‑end data solutions on Azure and Databricks, shape data modelling and governance across Bolder Group, and act as a technical reference for less experienced colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure Data Factory and Databricks using Python, SQL and PySpark.
• Develop enterprise‑wide data models (star schema, Medallion) optimized for Power BI and downstream analytics.
• Architect scalable data solutions with Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database and Logic Apps.
• Champion data quality, master data management, data cataloguing and governance, including security controls.
• Monitor and optimise pipeline performance, cost and CI/CD processes, applying version control and automated testing.
• Coach junior engineers, review their work and share knowledge across the team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional data‑engineering experience, preferably with cloud projects.
• Strong ownership mindset, structured approach and ability to mentor others.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with APIs and integration of market‑data providers.

Required skills

• Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Logic Apps.
• PySpark, Python, SQL.
• CI/CD principles, version control, automated testing and deployment.
• Data‑modeling (star schema, Medallion architecture) and Power BI readiness.
• Data‑governance tools such as Unity Catalog, data quality and lineage practices.
