Senior AI Engineer – Agentic AI Platform

About the role

Johnson Controls is hiring a Senior AI Engineer in Bratislava to help build its enterprise Agentic AI Platform, which enables intelligent AI agents to automate and enhance business workflows. You will design, build and scale AI-powered solutions combining reasoning, knowledge retrieval and enterprise system integration, while helping define standards and best practices for AI engineering, governance and platform development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy AI agents and agentic workflows that solve real business problems.
• Build RAG and knowledge retrieval solutions using enterprise data sources.
• Integrate AI solutions with APIs, business applications and data platforms.
• Establish standards for AI evaluation, monitoring, security and governance.
• Optimize AI solutions for quality, reliability, scalability and cost efficiency.
• Partner with engineers, data teams and business stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to team members.

Required profile

• Hands-on experience designing and deploying AI or machine learning solutions in production environments.
• Ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable AI solutions, with strong systems thinking and problem solving.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders and lead technical initiatives.
• Open to candidates from AI engineering, ML engineering, MLOps, data science, cloud engineering, solution architecture or software engineering backgrounds.

Required skills

• Generative AI and agentic systems: LLM-powered applications, RAG, prompt engineering, tool/function calling.
• Python and SQL; API and cloud integrations, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Preferred: Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, agent frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, vector databases, MLOps, CI/CD, observability and AI governance.

• Salary of EUR 2,700 to 4,215 per month, plus a 13th-month salary after six months.
