Robotics Maintenance Engineer – Body Shop

About the role

Join Volvo Cars' new electric‑vehicle plant in Košice as a Robotics Maintenance Engineer focused on the Body in White shop. You will ensure the reliability and efficiency of the robot‑based manufacturing line, supporting the transition to sustainable mobility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve robot configuration, tools and maintenance processes for the body shop.
• Lead optimisation of robot systems (welding, gluing, SPR, laser welding) to reduce operating costs and increase stability.
• Plan and execute digitalisation of workshop robots to boost management efficiency.
• Provide technical support, create maintenance plans, manage spare‑part lists and train maintenance personnel.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and product design on new robot selections, installations and commissioning.

Required profile

• Several years of experience maintaining robots in a highly automated industrial environment.
• University education in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Manufacturing, Automation, Electrical or a related field.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues and guide operators.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.
• Fluent conversational English (written and spoken) and ability to work in a multinational team.

Required skills

• FANUC robot fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• Robot installation, commissioning and peripheral software/hardware problem solving.
• Electrical diagnostics for robot equipment.
• Robot maintenance planning and spare‑part management.
