Onsite Support Engineer – OSS

About the role

The OSS Engineer provides onsite End User Services and production‑site IT/OT support to ensure stable, secure and uninterrupted business and manufacturing operations. Acting as the local IT representative, the engineer delivers hands‑on assistance for end‑user devices, production workstations and IoT/OT equipment while coordinating with infrastructure, application, automation and vendor teams.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary onsite IT contact for business users and production teams, delivering deskside support for Windows workstations, laptops, mobile devices and tablets.
• Perform Install, Move, Add, Change and Decommission (IMACD) activities for user devices, peripherals and printing equipment.
• Manage hardware lifecycle, asset tracking and inventory, and support Microsoft Office and standard corporate applications.
• Participate in major incident resolution, business continuity and change management processes.
• Provide first‑line support for production‑related workstations, manufacturing execution systems (MES) and related interfaces.
• Troubleshoot IoT devices, sensors, cameras, gateways and edge equipment, verifying power, cabling and network connectivity.
• Coordinate with automation, network, security and infrastructure teams to resolve OT/IT issues.
• Escort and supervise external vendors, ensure proper documentation and closure of vendor‑related incidents.

Required profile

• Hands‑on, customer‑facing professional comfortable working onsite in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple technical teams and external vendors.
• Strong attention to safety, compliance and IT policy adherence.

• Networking fundamentals (LAN, VLAN, TCP/IP, VPN)
• Printing technologies
• ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy)
• Knowledge of production environments and OT operations
• Experience with manufacturing IT environments and incident/problem/change management
