M365 Expert for Defender for Exchange

About the role
You will be responsible for protecting the organisation’s email environment by operating and continuously improving Microsoft Defender for Exchange. You will work closely with the Cyber Defense, SOC and IT Security teams to ensure a robust, proactive email security posture.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and enhance Microsoft Defender for Exchange, including threat‑management policies, anti‑phishing, anti‑malware, anti‑spam, Safe Attachments and Safe Links.
- Analyze, assess and respond to email‑based security incidents such as phishing, malware and business‑email compromise.
- Collaborate with Exchange Online, M365 Security, Defender Suite, Entra ID and Workplace Services teams.
- Drive continuous improvements: policy hardening, Zero‑Hour protection, attack‑surface reduction and user protection measures.
- Implement, maintain and document security configurations, reporting and compliance requirements.
- Participate in security audits, phishing simulations, penetration tests and DORA‑related controls.
- Contribute to knowledge development, standardisation and advisory activities in email and collaboration security.
Required profile
- Proven experience with Microsoft 365 security services, especially Defender for Exchange.
- Strong understanding of email‑based threats and incident response processes.
- Ability to work closely with cross‑functional security and IT teams.
- Detail‑oriented with a focus on continuous improvement and compliance.

- Base salary starting at €2,000 gross per month, paid 14 times a year (13th & 14th month).
