Linux Administrator – Hardware Specialist

About the role
You will be the primary point of contact for the physical layer of our large web and mail infrastructure, spread across three data centres in two European countries. The role combines hands‑on hardware work with Linux infrastructure management.
Key responsibilities
- Rack, cable, network‑configure and commission new servers; replace faulty disks, RAM, power supplies and other components.
- Maintain rack and storage‑room order, manage server inventory, decommission hardware and plan capacity.
- Handle warranty claims, communicate with data‑centre operators and hardware suppliers, and participate in audits.
- Manage internal and hosting Linux infrastructure, improve and automate solutions, and perform regular upgrades.
- On‑call duty 3‑4 times a month, responding to Zabbix alerts and colleague reports, ensuring issues are resolved and prevented.
Required profile
- Several years of practical experience with Linux servers, command‑line deployment, monitoring and upgrades.
- Hands‑on hardware experience: rack‑mounting, cabling, component replacement, RAID knowledge, IPMI/KVM.
- Solid understanding of networking principles (subnetting, static IP, NAT, firewalls).
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (IaC, Bash/Shell, Python).
- English at B2 level or higher and a driving licence for data‑centre visits.
Required skills
- Ubuntu, LXD, Nginx, ZFS, MariaDB, Postfix, Dovecot, Kubernetes, Zabbix.
- Configuration management with SaltStack and Ansible.
- Bash/Shell, Python scripting.
- IPMI, KVM, RAID levels.
- Networking: subnetting, static IP, NAT, firewall configuration.
- Enterprise server hardware (Dell, Supermicro, HPE) and data‑centre equipment (PSU, UPS, structured cabling, fiber optics).
- Optional: Cisco/Dell/Juniper switch configuration, CCNA knowledge.
