IT Field Support Technician

About the role

The IT Field Support Technician delivers high‑quality technical assistance to end‑users both on‑site and remotely. The role blends hands‑on field work with service‑desk duties, ensuring hardware, software and network services run smoothly for employees and event locations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, videoconference equipment and related software.
• Provide support via phone, email, ticketing system, video‑conference and in‑person visits, including remote sites and trade shows.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents involving hardware, operating systems, applications, email, internet, VPN, printers and network connectivity.
• Assist with LAN, WAN and wireless network setup and basic maintenance of routers, switches and firewalls.
• Document incidents, resolutions and knowledge articles in the ticketing system and follow ITIL best practices.
• Support onboarding and off‑boarding activities, device provisioning and access coordination.
• Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory records and generate support activity reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 4 years experience in IT field support or a comparable role.
• Proven experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting a wide range of IT equipment.
