Head of Plant Logistics

About the role

The Head of Plant Logistics will lead the plant supply‑chain and logistics organization, ensuring the required service levels are met at the lowest possible cost while maximizing inventory turns. You will be responsible for shaping the end‑to‑end material flow and driving continuous improvement across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, empower and qualify the plant SCM/Logistics team to operate efficiently and with a customer‑centric focus.
• Implement corporate and division supply‑chain standards and support future strategy development.
• Optimize material flows and automate handling processes to reduce manual effort.
• Lead inbound, intra‑plant and outbound material planning to guarantee high availability and service levels.
• Run Sales & Operations Planning for plant leadership to improve demand visibility and avoid shortages.
• Optimize production planning to achieve a demand‑driven supply chain with minimal inventories.
• Improve inventory performance across production units and value streams.
• Steer transport execution, manage performance, and handle claims according to guidelines.
• Oversee the plant’s operational customs organization.

Required profile

• 5+ years of solid experience in operations and related functions.
• 3+ years of leadership experience with coaching and mentoring abilities.
• Strong project‑management background.
• Proven expertise in lean management, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Transformation competence and organizational‑development skills.
• Business and finance management acumen.
• Results‑oriented problem‑solving mindset.
• In‑depth knowledge of safety, quality, delivery, production and launch readiness.
