Google Cloud Platform Architect (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform Architect to lead AI‑driven mainframe modernization projects. You will transform legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go, or .NET applications running on GCP, while advising clients on the business impact of these migrations.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and drive application modernization initiatives, re‑architecting legacy/mainframe‑class systems for GCP.
• Design and implement data architecture solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Engage with client stakeholders to explain the criticality of legacy systems and the benefits of modernization.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams in a fully GCP‑based environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of cloud architecture experience, specifically with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in application modernization and re‑architecting legacy or mainframe systems.
• Consulting or professional services background with client‑facing delivery.
• Strong communication skills in English.
