Field Support Engineer – Telecom Networks

About the role

The Field Support Engineer will join Airbus Public Safety and Security's technical team in Bratislava, providing on‑site and remote support for TETRA, Tetrapol and Agnet telecommunication platforms. The role involves handling customer incidents, performing upgrades, and ensuring service level agreements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Support TETRA, Tetrapol and Agnet networks, including upgrades and maintenance.
• Implement, commission and support Airbus telecommunication products and software.
• Troubleshoot issues, plan upgrades and propose innovative solutions.
• Escalate complex cases to Level 3 and coordinate with the expert centre.
• Collaborate with partners, report status in customer meetings and own case management.
• Participate in international team support, sharing methodology, training and lessons learned.
• Provide 24/7 emergency support as part of the EOD on‑call team.
• Assist with test‑bed customer testing, internal tasks and pre‑sales activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications or IT engineering.
• Knowledge of current and future mobile communications systems and network trends.
• Professional experience with IP networking and firewalls.
• Hands‑on experience with Enterprise Linux, virtualization, micro‑services and containerisation.
• Experience in implementing or supporting mobile telecom systems (2G/3G/4G/TETRA) is a plus.
• Familiarity with trouble‑ticket and CRM systems.
• Ability to work independently or within a team, service‑oriented and responsible.
• Class B driving licence, fluent Slovak and good English.
