About the role

Hydro Extrusions is seeking a Fabrication Engineer to work closely with plants, technical teams and leadership across Europe. You will drive standardisation, performance improvement and operational excellence in the fabrication of structural components for aluminium extrusion projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain fabrication standards across European operations, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency and reliability.
  • Monitor and improve key manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, uptime, asset utilisation, productivity, scrap and quality.
  • Lead and coordinate cross‑functional improvement projects across multiple sites.
  • Identify, share and harmonise best practices to standardise fabrication processes throughout the network.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership and technical stakeholders, providing expertise, support and constructive challenge.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement to strengthen technical capabilities across sites.
  • Support compliance with Hydro’s Quality System, HSE requirements, company policies and relevant customer and regulatory standards.

Required profile

  • 5+ years of experience in fabrication of structural components, including cutting, milling, assembly, fastening, bending, punching and welding/joining.
  • Practical experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen or Operational Excellence.
  • Proven track record of improving manufacturing KPIs, particularly OEE, uptime and utilisation.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional improvement projects across multiple sites or regions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills
