Expert AI Engineer

About the role

Ciklum is seeking an Expert AI Engineer to join its cross‑functional development team in Slovakia. You will lead the design, development and deployment of advanced AI systems, working on large language models, retrieval‑augmented generation and multi‑agent applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design and implementation of scalable AI pipelines and LLM‑driven applications.
• Serve as technical authority during client engagements, ensuring quality, performance and reliability.
• Contribute hands‑on from prototyping to production‑grade implementation and apply MLOps/LLMOps best practices.
• Integrate AI services with enterprise platforms such as Confluence, Jira, GitHub, CRM and ERP.
• Mentor peers, support knowledge sharing and act as SME in presales conversations.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software, data or AI engineering experience, with 3–4 years focused on AI/ML solutions.
• BSc, MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related quantitative field.
• Deep understanding of probability, statistics and machine‑learning mathematics.
• Proven experience delivering production‑grade AI systems, including LLMs and generative AI.

Required skills

• Python and AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, Hugging Face).
• Cloud‑native AI platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI).
• MLOps/LLMOps tools for CI/CD, orchestration, monitoring and versioning.
• SQL and optionally Java/Scala for data processing and API integration.
• Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake) and big‑data frameworks (Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink).
• Knowledge of NoSQL/graph databases (Cassandra, Neo4j).
