DevOps System Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a System Engineer to join our RailX team, contributing to the implementation, integration, automation and maintenance of system platforms that support our software solutions for the public transport sector, with a focus on rail. The role works with a wide range of technologies, collaborates with development teams, architects and customers, and helps translate technical requirements into reliable, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain automation and infrastructure solutions using Infrastructure as Code.
• Integrate and support technical solutions across development, test and customer environments.
• Maintain shared development and integration platforms used by RailX teams.
• Support Agile teams and stakeholders in delivering reliable and scalable solutions.
• Assist customer deployments, test integrations and internal infrastructure environments.
• Troubleshoot system issues, perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Secondary school education with A‑Levels equivalent.
• Advanced English (C1) communication skills.
• Self‑driven, comfortable working autonomously.
• Strong collaboration and communication with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
• Detail‑oriented approach to engineering documentation.

Required skills

• Linux administration (RPM‑based distributions).
• Kubernetes environments, preferably OpenShift.
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Version control with Git and package management with Helm.
• SQL and NoSQL database knowledge.
• Scripting in Bash and/or Python.
• Jenkins and Argo CD (advantage).
• Observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki (advantage).
• Basic networking and network security knowledge.
• Virtualization platforms: ESXi or KVM.
