DevOps Engineer - Digital Banking Operations

About the role

Erste Digital, part of Erste Group, the largest banking group in Central and Eastern Europe, is looking for a DevOps Engineer for cloud and on-premise datacenter infrastructure supporting its international banking application George. The role is based in Bratislava and involves incident support, deployment and release work, and collaboration with developers in English.

Key responsibilities

• Support the investigation and resolution of incidents in cloud and on-premise infrastructure
• Assist developers with infrastructure-related topics and day-to-day operational support
• Analyse application and infrastructure logs using tools such as Grafana and CloudWatch
• Work with experienced team members in English to identify and troubleshoot issues
• Support performance testing activities and help analyse results
• Assist with application deployments and releases across different environments
• Create and maintain operational and technical documentation
• Learn and apply operational best practices and new technologies
• Support the setup and maintenance of monitoring solutions for applications and services
• Take part in the on-call rotation (1 week on call every 6 to 8 weeks after onboarding and training)

Required profile

• Basic understanding of Java application servers and standalone Java configuration
• Basic experience or strong interest in Linux, Elastic Search, Kafka, Cassandra and relational databases with SQL
• Basic understanding of AWS services (EKS, RDS, ALB, EC2, SG) and container technologies (Docker, LXC)
• Ability to work proactively in a highly international environment
