Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist

About the role

Adient is seeking a Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist to support daily import and export customs operations across EMEA. The role involves working with internal teams, forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure accurate customs clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational support for import and export customs processes in EMEA, including creating customs clearance instructions.
• Apply customs classification, origin determination, and valuation rules during clearance.
• Communicate with Adient plants, forwarders, and customs brokers in English to obtain and verify necessary data.
• Use Adient customs systems and SAP to retrieve data and prepare statements for customs authorities.
• Prepare, verify, and correct customs declarations under supervision.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of import, export, and transit customs processes.
• Intermediate English (B2) and preferably German.
• Strong communication skills and flexibility in working hours.
• Team player willing to provide individual support and learn new tasks.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel proficiency.
• Experience with SAP (advantageous).
