Commodity Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Commodity Specialist to support strategic sourcing and procurement for assigned commodities, focusing on electrical systems, components and cable harnesses. The role works closely with engineering, quality, operations and finance to ensure material availability, quality and cost competitiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity strategies for assigned categories.
• Conduct supplier research, benchmarking and market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities.
• Manage day‑to‑day supplier communication, including RFQs, price updates and delivery coordination.
• Analyze cost structures, evaluate quotations and support negotiation processes.
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain procurement data in ERP systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on product changes, cost optimisation and supply improvements.
• Participate in cost‑reduction, value‑engineering and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and internal procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or supply‑chain functions (internships or junior roles considered).
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication abilities.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, components and cable harnesses.
• Ability to work with technical documentation and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
