Business Controller

About the role

We are looking for a Business Controller to join a global leader in their sector, partnering closely with operational and finance teams to drive performance, improve profitability, and provide commercial insight. The role involves financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and business partnering across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly forecasts, projections and flash reports.
• Analyse financial performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Develop and enhance key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business objectives.
• Produce monthly cost centre and profitability analyses.
• Investigate and explain financial variances, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
• Partner with site management, providing commercial challenge and financial insight.
• Support project costing and financial analysis during the proposal stage.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and cost centre planning.
• Monitor investments and capital expenditure.
• Support reporting requirements for senior management.
• Coordinate and monitor the site's risk management process.

Required profile

• Experience in business controlling, financial planning or management accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Excellent Excel and financial systems skills.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Proactive approach with strong attention to detail.
