About the role
The AME Automation Leader – EMEA is the regional technical leader responsible for defining, deploying and continuously improving automation solutions across Vertiv’s manufacturing and test operations. The role ensures automation enhances safety, quality, throughput and cost efficiency for UPS, switchgear, busbar systems, thermal management and modular data centre products.
Key responsibilities
- Define and maintain EMEA automation standards for production, test automation, robotics, vision systems and industrial networks, aligned with global Vertiv standards.
- Lead technical decisions and design/implement automation solutions for sub‑assembly, assembly and end‑of‑line testing, including material handling and robotic assembly.
- Manage automation projects from concept through design, FAT, SAT, commissioning and production hand‑over, supporting greenfield factories, brownfield upgrades and new product introductions.
- Drive MES integration, test data historians, IoT connectivity and digital dashboards to provide real‑time visibility of test results, energy consumption, equipment status and OEE.
- Partner with Operations, Quality, R&D and Supply Chain to improve yield, cycle time and equipment availability, and lead root‑cause analysis of automation and test failures.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of manufacturing experience with deep technical credibility in production automation and test systems.
- Strong knowledge of functional safety systems, safety PLCs and compliance documentation.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt advantage) and experience with continuous‑improvement methodologies.

- AutoCAD or equivalent for facility and production line layout development.
- PC tools: MS Office, PDM systems and CADD.
