Accounting Associate with German (m/f)

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Associate who can support German‑speaking clients in Bratislava. The role offers a mix of operational finance tasks and client‑facing communication, with opportunities to develop within an international environment at PwC.

Key responsibilities

• Support operational accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and procure‑to‑pay.
• Record, review and reconcile financial transactions within agreed timelines.
• Manage open items, follow‑ups and clarifications with clients and internal teams.
• Assist with cash application, treasury‑related activities and end‑to‑end finance processes.
• Communicate regularly with German‑speaking clients via email, calls and meetings.
• Participate in month‑end closing and help prepare financial reporting.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
• Perform basic financial analysis and identify discrepancies.
• Support process improvements and share knowledge with junior colleagues.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in accounting or finance operations.
• German language proficiency at C1 level.
• Good command of English.
• Solid understanding of AP, AR, GL, P2P or treasury processes.
• Experience in a shared service centre, consulting or similar environment is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot and Power BI.
