Accountant Clerk - Payments & Banking

About the role

Clarios, a global leader in advanced energy storage solutions, is looking for an analytical and detail-oriented finance professional to join its Payments & Banking team within the Procure to Pay (PTP) area in Bratislava. The role covers payment execution, reconciliation, discrepancy resolution and continuous improvement, in a structured, team-based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and review payments for accuracy, timeliness and compliance with internal controls
• Prepare, analyse and process payment proposals, and approve and validate payments in banking systems according to approval matrices
• Act as a business partner for internal stakeholders, handling complex payment queries
• Identify, research and resolve payment discrepancies and exceptions
• Perform payment reconciliations and keep ERP and banking systems aligned
• Monitor payment activity with reports and Power BI, highlighting risks or deviations
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and explanations
• Follow up on payment and accounts payable issues and support automation and process optimisation

Required profile

• High school or university degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
• 1.5 to 3 years of experience in finance, preferably in Accounts Payable or Payments
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and team collaboration skills
