2nd Level Engineer Backoffice IT Operations

About the role

As a Backoffice Support Engineer you will be the go‑to expert for resolving technical incidents and ensuring smooth operation of internal IT services. This is a second‑level position that combines deep technical knowledge with an understanding of financial and business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve assigned incidents within SLA and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Provide 2nd‑level and basic 3rd‑level support for designated IT services.
• Drive problem‑management activities to eliminate root causes.
• Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams for advanced troubleshooting.
• Create and maintain procedures, checklists and knowledge‑base documentation.
• Plan, document and implement changes or extensions for managed applications.
• Monitor services and components using Splunk dashboards, queries, alerts and reports.

Required profile

• Strong presence and ability to influence across technical and business environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Independent, proactive and able to work under pressure.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a hands‑on operational attitude.
• Willingness to travel and be on‑call during weekends or public holidays.
• Fluent English communication (verbal and written).

• Experience with ERP/processing systems
• Citrix‑based application support
• Familiarity with Actian Zen Database, Dataflex, Java and .NET Framework (nice‑to‑have)
• ITIL certification (nice‑to‑have)
