Tax Specialist – Germany & Austria

About the role

The Tax Specialist supports business operations in Germany and Austria by ensuring efficient, effective, and high‑quality tax compliance. You will act as a trusted partner for tax‑related questions, manage tax risks and continuously improve tax processes.

Key responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for direct taxation, withholding tax and tax accounting.
• Ensure compliance of tax processes and drive continuous improvement.
• Serve as the main contact for tax questions arising from projects or daily operations.
• Identify, evaluate, and report tax risks, and contribute to risk mitigation.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement process enhancements.

Required profile

• University degree focused on taxation or comparable qualification.
• 5–7 years of tax experience in an international company or Big 4 firm.
• Strong business acumen, intercultural competence and a hands‑on, process‑oriented mindset.
• Fluent in English and German; additional EU or foreign language is a plus.

Required skills

• Very good SAP knowledge.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
