Software Engineer - Data Scientist

About the role

We are hiring a Data Scientist who is passionate about solving complex business problems using data, machine learning, and AI. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Python, hands‑on experience with ML frameworks, and exposure to Microsoft Azure cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and evaluate machine‑learning models for classification, regression, forecasting, and NLP use cases.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python and Azure Data Factory / Azure Databricks for ETL and feature engineering.
• Deploy models on Azure Machine Learning using endpoints, pipelines, and MLflow tracking.
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality, availability, and governance across Azure Data Lake and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Apply AI/GenAI capabilities (Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services) to create intelligent applications and automation workflows.
• Monitor model performance in production, detect drift, and implement retraining strategies.
• Translate business requirements into data‑science problem statements and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and adhere to MLOps best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data science/analytics with a proven record of delivering impactful insights or products.
• Proficiency in Python or R and experience with pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn.
• Solid knowledge of machine‑learning techniques (regression, classification, clustering, deep learning).
• Experience with data visualization tools (matplotlib, seaborn, Tableau) and SQL databases.
• Experience with distributed data/compute platforms such as Snowflake, Spark, MySQL.
• Mandatory experience with Azure and Azure Machine Learning, plus data‑engineering skills (pipelines, warehousing, integration).
• Proficiency with Git and collaboration tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• Understanding of ethics, privacy, bias, and fairness in data science.
