Software Engineer – C++/Python

About the role

As a member of the Big Data Systems Group within ESET's Core‑Development Department, you will create innovative software solutions in C++ and Python to address data‑processing challenges that cannot be solved with off‑the‑shelf tools. The team focuses on storing, indexing, and processing large volumes of malware‑related data from many sources.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop in‑house tools for big‑data problems using C/C++ and Python.
• Collaborate with the team to integrate and extend existing big‑data technologies such as OpenStack‑Swift, Kafka, and Spark.

Required profile

• Solid experience with C/C++ and Python development.
• Comfortable working on Linux servers and willing to deepen Linux knowledge.

• Familiarity with Java, Scala, Rust or Bash is a plus.
• Experience with big‑data technologies (OpenStack‑Swift, Kafka, Spark) and databases (SQL or NoSQL) is valued.
