Senior Java Developer – Cloud & Microservices

About the role

Accenture is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join an international team that builds and modernises financial‑product, calculation and vehicle‑data platforms used across multiple markets. You will work on a hybrid application landscape based on Java, Quarkus, Jakarta EE, REST APIs, Kafka, AWS, Docker and modern CI/CD tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain Java backend services and APIs.
• Build and enhance micro‑services using Quarkus, Jakarta EE and event‑driven patterns.
• Support migration from on‑premises environments to AWS and container platforms.
• Integrate with REST, SOAP, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB and DocumentDB.
• Improve automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, code quality, security and monitoring.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, DevOps specialists and other developers in distributed agile teams.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
• Leverage AI‑assisted engineering tools for coding, testing and documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on Java backend development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java enterprise development, micro‑services and API design.
• Experience with Quarkus, Jakarta EE, Spring or comparable Java frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of REST, SQL databases, Git, automated testing and CI/CD.
• Experience with cloud or container technologies such as AWS, Docker or Kubernetes.
• Ability to understand complex systems, work with legacy code and take ownership of delivery.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills in an international environment.
• English at B2+ level and Slovak at C1+ level.
