Senior Enterprise Architect

About the role

Swiss Re is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to lead the design and governance of AI architectures across complex, cross‑domain transformation initiatives. In this high‑impact individual contributor role you will shape AI strategy, define target architectures and ensure responsible, scalable AI deployment at enterprise scale.

Key responsibilities

• Shape AI strategy and target architectures by engaging business areas to define use cases, roadmaps, blueprints and transition plans aligned with corporate direction.
• Design end‑to‑end AI solution architectures covering business, application, data, model, integration, security, evaluation, observability and production deployment.
• Drive standardisation and reuse through reusable patterns, build‑versus‑buy assessments and platform evaluations.
• Lead architecture delivery from concept through implementation, production readiness and operational ownership.
• Define and evolve AI standards, reference architectures and governance processes, ensuring responsible AI, privacy, security and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Strategic thinker with deep AI architecture expertise and experience delivering production‑grade AI solutions (LLMs, RAG, embeddings, agents).
• Proven leadership in enterprise architecture, design authority processes and cross‑domain transformation within large, matrixed organisations.
• Strong influencing skills, able to advise senior business and technology leaders on investment and transformation decisions.

Required skills

• Design and implementation of AI solutions including large language models, retrieval‑augmented generation, embeddings/vector search and AI agents.
• MLOps/LLMOps pipelines, AI security and privacy patterns, observability and model monitoring.
• Responsible AI controls and production‑ready deployment practices.
• Enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and governance models.
